Greetings and Happy New Year!

This is a reminder that the first 2007 Wednesday evening meditation at Yoga Moves studio is this week on January 3.

•	MINDFULNESS MEDITATION AND BUDDHIST TEACHING in the spirit of Thich Nhat Hanh with resident teacher, Fred Eppsteiner, takes place on first and third Wednesdays from 7:15 to 9 p.m. at Yoga Moves, 1045 9th Ave. N. in St. Petersburg.

Meditation teacher and longtime Buddhist practitioner, Fred Eppsteiner recently moved to St. Petersburg. Recognized for his distinct ability to integrate Buddhist philosophy, psychology, and meditation into contemporary American life, Fred has guided students throughout Florida in retreats, weekly practice periods and days of mindfulness.

A career as a psychotherapist and 35 years of Buddhist study have informed his approach to engaged Buddhism. Fred practiced under the American Zen master Roshi Philip Kapleau, studied in India with Tibetan teachers, and was ordained as a Buddhist teacher by the Vietnamese Zen master, Thich Nhat Hanh. Founder of the Naples Community of Mindfulness, Fred also has edited two books, The Path of Compassion and Interbeing.

Mindfulness practice helps one to cultivate compassion, develop inner peace and experience joy. The Wednesday evening gatherings include seated meditation, mindful walking (meditation), Buddhist teachings, guidance on using the teachings and practices in daily life, and the opportunity to ask questions.

All are welcome to participate. There is no charge; however donations are gratefully accepted by the Florida Community of Mindfulness, a not-for-profit organization. Funds received are used to make the teachings available to all.
