[Naples-News] Naples Sangha Schedule for Augst 2007

Dear Dharma Friends,

 

I hope that this email finds everyone in good health and that you are having
a wonderful summer. The following is the Naples Sangha's schedule for
August.  

 

Please join the Naples Sangha for our ongoing discussion of the Noble
Eightfold Path as explained by Thich Nhat Hanh in "Heart of the Buddha's
Teachings."  This Sunday, August 5, 2007, the Naples Sangha will continue
with a presentation and discussion on Right Speech, Right Action, and Right
Diligence.  "Right Speech is based on Right Thinking. Speech is the way for
our thinking to express itself aloud. Our thoughts are no longer our private
possessions. We give earphones to others and allow them to hear the audio
tape that is playing in our mind."  Heart of the Buddha's Teachings Page 78.
Please join us and share your understanding of these fundamental practices.

 

 

August 12, 2007: Chanting Service and Recitation of the Five Mindfulness
Trainings. 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

 

 

August 18, 2007:  A full day of mindfulness in Naples at the Innerlight
Healing Center. Our gracious host is Yolanda Becker.  9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Please bring a bag lunch, mat and cushion.  A limited number of cushions,
mats and backjacks will be available.  Bottled water will be provided.

Directions to Innerlight Healing Center: Go East on Pine Ridge; east of I-75
pass the Vineyards Community to Logan Avenue.  Turn Left (north) onto Logan.
Look for Harold Wood Drive, which is the street before Hickory Wood. Turn
right onto Hickory Wood.  Go to the last house on the right which is: 4810
Hickory Wood Drive, Innerlight Healing Center

  

 

August 19, 2007:  Fred will be teaching at Bala Vinyasa Yoga. 6:30 to 8:30
p.m.

 

 

**August 26, 2007 : **Please join us for a very special occasion!  On August
25, 2007, our own Ruth Eppsteiner will be celebrating her 90th birthday.
Come and help us celebrate such a wonderful occasion with Ruth and the
Sangha.  There will be a surprise celebration of Ruth's life after the
sitting at 7:30.  Please help us keep it a secret until that evening.  The
introductory class will be held from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m.
