[Dws-News] This Thursday at the Lotus Room

Dear Friends,

Please join us at the Lotus Room this Thursday, when Fred Eppsteiner will
lead the Sangha in meditation and offer a dharma talk on the following:

  - What is a valid spiritual path?
  - What is the role of teachers and the responsibilities of students, and
vice versa?
  - Is there a necessity for spiritual communities?
  - What does "transmission" mean in the Buddhist tradition?

As we've discussed at Sangha the past two weeks, we've formed a steering
committee to look at ways that the Sangha can help support the practice of
our members. It was agreed that having Fred teach weekly, in blocks of
time, would be beneficial for members. Fred will be teaching from a
selected text starting next week and continuing through the end of
December.  We'll let you know what that text will be within the next week.

We welcome your participation and ideas for the steering committee and the
Sangha.  Please let Diane, Wes, or me know if you'd like to become more
involved.
